Associate Scientist / Scientist, Analytical Sciences (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities

• Perform physicochemical and biochemical characterization of biologics using a variety of analytical techniques, including HPLC/UPLC, isoelectric focusing (IEF), capillary electrophoresis (CE), spectroscopic methods, biochemical assays, and binding/kinetic assays.

• Support day-to-day laboratory operations, including sample receipt and tracking, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring of analytical instrumentation, including chromatography systems, electrophoresis platforms, microplate readers, and other laboratory equipment.

• Independently design and execute laboratory studies, analyze and interpret data, troubleshoot analytical challenges, and communicate findings through technical reports, presentations, and team discussions.

• Prepare and maintain assay reagents, reference standards, controls, and other materials required to support analytical testing activities.

• Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory records, electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs), experimental protocols, and supporting documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality analytical results and project milestones.

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline with 2-5 years (MSc.) or 4-6 years (BSc.) of relevant industry experience.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with analytical characterization techniques, particularly chromatography (U/HPLC), electrophoretic and isoelectric focusing (PA 800 Plus/Maurice), is required.

• Experience working in a CRO and/or GMP Quality Control (QC) environment is highly desirable.

• Proficiency with Waters Empower™ chromatography data software is a strong plus.

• Working knowledge of biotherapeutic analytical development (e.g., method qualification and/or validation and assay transfer).

• Experience with additional biophysical characterization techniques, such as SEC-MALS, DSC, circular dichroism (CD), FT-IR, or MFI, and/or LC-MS-based characterization of biotherapeutics is highly desirable but not required.

• Ability to independently plan and execute experiments while managing multiple priorities and maintaining timelines in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work successfully in both a team/matrix environment as well as independently.

• Experience with the analytical characterization of oligonucleotides a plus.
